Sahanlahti is a prestigious and traditional tourist destination with a magnificent location in Puumala, less than an hour’s drive from Savonlinna, Mikkeli and Imatra. One of the oldest sawmills in the Lake Saimaa area, Sahanlahti, was born around the water-powered sawmill that was established in 1765 but has since been demolished. Sawmilling was a feature of the Sahanlahti landscape for almost 200 years.
